Out in the distance something shimmers. Back and forth, it glides. The shiny midnight-blue waterline reminds me of Sadie’s glossy hair. I take a few steps closer, unable to speak. From the sky, the moon casts its reflection, causing its twin to dance effortlessly across the miles and miles of water.
‘I remember the first time my dad showed me the ocean. I was your age too,’ Dad whispers.
