If you have said yes to these questions, then you'll understand why I'm grieving today. The best pair of jeans in the world have met their demise. Sigh, I've had these jeans for 10 years. They've survived my high heeled, ballet flats, sneakers and being shoved into a pair of boots phase. The bottoms were frayed from the days when it was in style to have the worn look from letting them scrape the ground as you walked. They as of a few years ago lost the 2 back belt loops that were used to help pull them over my waist (I was slightly heavier at the time) and have gone with me on every trip I have ever taken in the last 10 years. I believe I worn these jeans on all of my airplane trips to and fro.
Today was our last voyage. Upon climbing in the car today, I heard the sound of fabric slowly being ripped. As I shifted in my seat a cool draft tickled my backside...in ways that had there been material there, I probably wouldn't have thought twice about the noise I heard. To my great dismay and embarrassment I realized my all time favorite jeans had left me hanging...literally.
I must admit, I'm quite sad about this. I have lots of other jeans, but none of them compare to my newly departed pair. If and when I find another pair to take its place, it's going to take years of abuse to break them in as well as this pair.
You can see that the belt loop ripped off (top right).
My finger is pointing to the second rip. I guess this morning when I put them on both sides did that. While out with my mom she noticed the nice colored patches under the frayed Vs as she put it...geesh, thanks mom.
Just in case you missed how big the rip was...
