Under the My Books link, if you've checked it out. I'm sure you saw, 'Frozen', my newest book. It was crazy fun writing it. I think writing the stories is the best part of the process. The part that I struggle with is spreading the word afterwards. So I've been thinking (this can be a scary thing at times!). Would it be possible to do a sort of traveling book, chain letter type thing (without the bad luck)?
I would like to send a paperback copy of 'Frozen' out into the world for it to be passed around to readers looking for some adventure. My idea is to give it to one person, and once they read it, they would sign their name, the month/year, and state they're from before passing it off to the next person.
Here's where the problems come in. Once the book is out of my hands, there is no guarantee the book will be passed on from person to person. I don't expect for anyone to have to mail it. Postage would be insane! But if people would be willing to pass it off to a neighbor, family member, classmate, or a coworker, it could really work. With that thought, I then wondered if it would even be possible that those who read the book could either post a picture of them and 'Frozen' to either this blog, my twitter, or Facebook account.
And here is the point were I feel I'm asking to much or this project will not succeed. Do you think Operation Traveling Frozen is possible? Will it really work? Are there any suggestion as to how I can get this project off the ground? Are there people willing to join in the adventure? Do you think I will one day hold the book in my hands again and be able to see the wonderful places it has traveled?
Feedback, comments and suggestions are welcome!
